The Wellness Warehouse in Kloof Lifestyles open this week. Luckily you don't have spend a lot of time wading through the wellness gadets/spas/organic produce to reach the Wellness Café. A selection of freshly made sandwiches and various health drinks (including caffeine) are on offer. In an attempt to embrace wellness, I opted for the ostrich bobotie and red onion marmalade on ciabata and Braamie tried the roasted butternut and goats cheese sandwich. Sounds good? Don't be fooled: the service was appauling. Two days in a row. After paying for your food, your are given the Wellness Buzzer that is supposed to flash when your drinks are ready. This means you eat your food and then wait, wait and wait some more for the magical flash to indicated that your lattes are ready. My advice: rather just stand at the counter and tap your feet - your drinks will appear in a flash. As you can see, the Wellness Café did not score high on the Braamiometer.

Give them a break - it was the first weekend of opening and they were trying to get it right. Did you not see the sign while you ordered "Please be patient, Cafe staff in training". I think they're doing a superb job under serious pressure, and will go from strength to strength.
Thanks, Anonymous. Unfortunately, I did not see the sign! I will reevaulate this weekend and report back.
LOL! Love the Braamiometer. Was that a seriously low on the Braamiometer, or can it go lower ?
The food when I was there was not too great,I thought Kauai is much better and the price for your money:)
The Kauai on Kloof is not that great, the one in the Virgin Active in Gardens Kauai is far better:)
Thanks for the comments 'Mieliepap' and 'Tara'. I had a coffee there last week and the service was much better, but then again, I was the only customer. Braamie and I were in the mood for breakfast this morning, but the menu really doesn't cover early morning meals. We still LOVE the shop, though.
I've just had lunch there, and I found the service ok, the staff made up for any shortcomings by being cheerful and the manager was rushing around clearing tables and taking orders which I liked. The food wasn't great, but what really pissed me off was the snapple "mango" that I took from the fridge - it was hideous and obviously marketed to people who have no idea what mango tastes like! I'm surprised that the Wellness Warehouse even stock it - it's as bad as having Pepsi there with a label saying "all natural products" LOL.. rant over, I know.. it's my own fault for ordering it.
