The one where to recycle on Kloof Street

The Abraham and I are now recycling at Laerskool Jan Van Riebeeck. They offer more options compared to the recycling bins at the Wellness Warehouse (including tin cans). Sadly, there are no facilities for recycling cardboard... I would hope that cardboard could be recycled?

I saw yesterday that the bins at the Wellness Warehouse are no longer there and there's a sign redirecting people to the junior school. Nice to see they accept more items. Where about at the school are the bins?

Hi Nicola. Really easy to find. The bins are just to the right of the main entrance.

Thanks for this, my wife and I were looking for the location of the recycling bins and your useful post and pictures were exactly what we sought. Very helpful.

Our school, Tamboerskloof Primary just off Kloofnek Road into Belle Ombre, also offers recycling. Mostly cardboard and paper though. :)
Then, I would also like to recommend Desco eWaste recycling. They will fetch your old computer etc. hardware for free. They can be contacted on 021 9877133. Speak to Leana.

Thanks for sharing the information, SuperSanti.

Pleasure. It's all about saving the planet.. one bit of recycling at a time. Just on that.. have you seen the filth left at corner of Camp and Kloof street and often times at the corner of Kloof street and that road by Villa Maria? I have written to council with pics.. but I see someone still uses those areas as dumping ground. It's not the restaurants.. I've had some chats with them. :) I would love Kloof street to be our pride. :)

Thanks for keeping this post updated! It is such an important topic.

Supersanti! Was wondering if you would mind posting some recycling tips/pointers. Now that I am living in Sweden I realize how inefficient we were preparing our waste for recycling :-(
Any handy tips or must-do's?

Hi Jan-Stefan,

Well, for one, a very good site to look and read through is: http://www.goinggreen.co.za/green-how-tos/112-reuse-and-recycling-in-south-africa.html
It gives great tips and there's links to many more. :)
And then most of all... consistency... people need to try something for at least a month before they get lazy and give up. :)
